Earlier this week, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg reported Leicester City have a ‘total agreement’ with Bayer Leverkusen over signing Adam Hložek. He also said there’d be a medical soon.
There’s been a new twist in this case and Leicester are set to miss out on the 20-year-old this summer, according to a fresh report from Florian Plettenberg.
Hložek came close to joining Leicester, but TSG Hoffenheim will now ‘hijack’ the Premier League side’s deal.
Plettenberg now states Hoffenheim and Xabi Alonso’s side are close to completing the negotiation for a fee of around €17-18m. The two clubs are sorting out the details of bonus payments.
The Czech international, for his part, has agreed to join Hoffenheim or Leicester. He is set to sign a deal until 2028 or 2029. The attacker can undergo medical tests later today if there’s a total agreement between the two Bundesliga sides.
Bild also claim Leicester came forward to sign Hložek, but Hoffenheim ‘suddenly crash the transfer’ to England. They will pay €17m to the German champions and offer a long-term contract to the player.
