Stade Rennais have ‘entered the race’ for Nottingham Forest midfielder Orel Mangala and ‘submitted an official offer’.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says they have offered Nottingham Forest a six-month loan with an obligation to buy of around €25m with add-ons included.
Mangala has been heavily linked with a surprise move away from Nottingham Forest this month, having seemingly been told he can leave by new manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who hasn’t used him a lot since his arrival.
Various clubs around Europe have been keen on a move and Nottingham Forest are happy to do a deal, if they can get terms they agree with.
Stade Rennais can now be added to the list of suitors, with Plettenberg stating that they have entered the race and submitted an official offer for the player.
They want the Belgian on loan until the end of the season but that includes an obligation to buy for €25m with various add-ons included.
That’s not yet tempted Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, who has a ‘high opinion about the player’ to sell and he ‘demands more’.
What figure he wants isn’t made clear, but it seems he’s not yet ready to accept Stade Rennais’ offer. That’s good news for Napoli and Juventus, who are ‘still involved’ in what is now a three horse, ‘open race’ for the Nottingham Forest man.
