Real Betis have submitted a loan offer, including an option to buy, to Leeds United for striker Mateo Joseph.

That’s according to El Desmarque, who report that the Leeds striker is one of the preferred options for Betis this summer.

They explain that after reports the Spanish club had reactivated talks with Leeds to try and bridge the gap between the two clubs regarding the striker, Betis have now chosen to propose a loan deal.

Everything is already sorted with Joseph, who has put other offers on hold. He has agreed personal terms with Betis and made it clear to Leeds and other suitors that he wants to play for the Spanish side.

There is a complete understanding in place with hie agents, who established the roadmap for his contract with Betis weeks ago.

Now the Spanish side are pushing to get the deal done and are convinced it will happen. They believe a loan with an option to buy could be enough, although for now Leeds have not responded.

Betis believe Joseph is the perfect profile for them as he’s familiar with La Liga, speaks the language and has significant room for growth. His open desire to move back to his homeland also works in their favour.

There is a stumbling block in that Betis need to move strikers on first, particularly Borja Iglesias, but they’ve submitted a loan bid to Leeds anyway hoping to set up a loan deal to be signed this summer.
