Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi is featured on the front page of Portuguese newspaper O Jogo today.

The reason for that is because Porto are reportedly working on his return to the club this summer, and the chances of signing him are ‘very strong’.

The outlet writes that the first contacts for the signing were ‘promising’, and Porto are counting on the help of his agent Jorge Mendes to get the transfer done.

The biggest issue would be Otamendi’s salary, since the Dragons can’t afford the amount he currently makes at Manchester City.

However, it’s claimed that the defender is willing to take a pay cut so he can return to the Estádio do Dragão.

O Jogo doesn’t even mention a potential fee that Porto would have to agree with Manchester City. So it sounds like the Premier League side would let him leave for very little, if not for free.

They write that Otamendi is ‘on his way out’ of Pep Guardiola’s side, as the manager is looking to rebuild their defence this summer.
