It’s been a while since Serie A clubs started being linked to Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge, and apparently, he continues to be an option for Napoli.
Newspaper Tutttosport today features a big story telling all the plans the Italian side have for the summer window, including the alternatives in case they lose some of their players.
It’s been made rather clear that Tiemoué Bakayoko would not be remaining in Naples beyond his current loan, so they must have a couple of options to replace him when he returns to Stamford Bridge.
Berge is one of them, along with Olympiacos’s Mandy Camara, with Tuttosport claiming both players are currently valued at €20m.
With Sheffield United relegated to the Champioship, it’s clear they’ll need to make some sales, and Berge is undoubtedly one of the players who’d give them a good opportunity to cash in.
Last week, newspaper Corriere Dello Sport had already claimed that Napoli’s interest in the Blades player had ‘re-emerged’, even though he would be ‘not so affordable’ for the Serie A side, who aren’t exactly flush with cash at this moment in time.
