With Porto travelling to face Liverpool at Anfield Road in the Champions League tomorrow night, there will obviously be many viewers paying attention to Luis Diaz.
The Dragons’ striker has recently been linked to a move to the Reds, with reports from the English press claiming Jurgen Klopp would like to sign him in January as a replacement for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who will be out during the Africa Cup of Nations.
So among the many stories about that game, newspaper O Jogo today features a piece on the Colombian star, pointing out there will be many ‘curious’ eyes on him tomorrow.
The outlet recalls the recent rumours and says that, at least for now, there have been ‘no concrete approaches’ received by Porto, pointing out that the player is protected by a €80m release clause.
This will be the first time Diaz starts for Porto since the international break, and O Jogo features some interesting facts about his recent form.
The striker scored four goals in his last three starts, one of them at San Siro, and is responsible for two of Porto’s three goals in the Champions League so far.
He also scored against Manchester City in England last season.
So regardless of how strong Liverpool’s interest in the 24-year-old already is, this will definitely be an interesting night to watch him, as his performance could dictate how the transfer rumours will go until the next transfer window.
