RB Leipzig are still undecided on whether to make Kosta Nedeljkovic’s loan move from Aston Villa permanent this summer.

That’s according to journalist Philipp Hinze, who reports that it is still unclear whether Aston Villa will exercise their purchase option on the Aston Villa right-back.

The 19-year-old has been a regular for Leipzig this season after joining on loan from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

Initially it appeared that they were happy to take up an option to sign him permanently. That is value at €10.5 plus €4.5m in bonuses. All indications were that a deal would done at some point.

However, reports in Germany have since made it clear that Leipzig have pulled back from making an immediate decision on the Aston Villa loanee. Hinze now explains that remains the case.

According to him it’s still unclear if Leipzig will use the option, which expires at the end of June. They’re using up all of their available time before going ether way.

A deal is still possible but is very much time dependent and will also need to be signed off by the new RB Leipzig manager, who is yet to be appointed. It means Aston Villa will be left waiting too, with the deal for Nedeljkovic very much on hold.
