Erling Haaland has been ordered to not answer or take questions about his future as he continues to be linked to Manchester United and other top clubs in Europe.

That’s what BILD report today, claiming that the Borussia Dortmund striker has been given a ‘transfer muzzle’ after weeks of speculation over a huge move in the summer.

Haaland is looking likely to be the major transfer story of the summer window, having scored 37 goals in 38 games in all competitions this season.

All the major clubs in Europe have been linked with a move for his signature, including Manchester United, who wanted him before he moved to Dortmund from RB Salzburg in January last year.

They are likely to need a new centre forward this summer, with Edinson Cavani seemingly pushing towards a move away after a year at the club.

Haaland remains the dream target, and they have something of an advantage over the competition as Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the man who gave the striker his debut for Molde.

Thus, United are regularly named among the clubs willing to make their move, and Haaland has regularly been asked about his future this season.

He won’t be giving any details any more, though, with BILD explaining that his father Alf-Inge and his agent Mino Raiola have ‘recommended’ that Haaland stay quiet about his future and ‘avoid interviews’ as much as possible.

That is something the striker has done, with his later interview coming on BVB Klub-TV and in the DFL’s Bundesliga World Feed on April 18th.

During those, he was ‘absolutely silent’ on the transfer speculation and journalists were not even allowed to ask him about it.

Haaland has even avoided giving interviews to media in his native Norway, with his last appearance there coming on Sky Norway on February 9th.

All of this is something Dortmund are welcoming, with the ‘annoying topic’ of Haaland’s future having taken centre stage for months.

They can put their efforts into getting into the Champions League and then deal with the issue in the summer once the season is done with.

On that front, BILD state that BVB’s boss ‘really want ‘ to keep Haaland, but if a club were to offer at least €150m, they would ‘start pondering’.

That is the price Manchester United and other suitors will need to hit if they want their man and until that happens, the transfer muzzle will remain firmly locked.
