Chelsea fans now get disappointing updates from the Dutch media, who claims that Edson Alvarez is not leaving Ajax for the Blues this summer.
De Telegraaf writes that in a meeting with the Eredivisie club today, the midfielder was told he’ll not be allowed to make the move to the Stamford Bridge.
The conversation was held in the presence of his agent Fulco van Krooperen, along with Ajax officials Gerry Hamstra and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
There, they said a move to Chelsea is ‘not negotiable’, as the club already lost too many important players and there’s no time to even look for a replacement.
The Mexican player is said to be quite frustrated with the rejection, as he’s claimed to be ‘angry’ and ‘finds it unfair’ that the club didn’t let him go.
Chelsea, who bid €50m for the signing, are said to be ‘one of his dream clubs’, and Alvarez now fears that a chance like this may never come again.
It’s said the player has ‘not completely given up hope’ for the move to London, although it sounds very unlikely that’ll be done in the coming hours.
