Gabigol’s situation is getting more serious, and will do so again when the Brazilian finishes his holidays.
Having spent the last Brazilian season on loan at Flamengo from Inter Milan, the striker has seen his value rise again and a return to European football is a possibility.
Claims came from Brazil this week that an English club have made an offer to Inter, without that side being named. Now Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola has stated the club is West Ham.
Nicola says he’s found this this out via a ‘joint investigation’ with Ze Elias, a former footballer who used to play for Inter.
‘A person from Inter Milan’ has ‘confirmed’ there are offers from Flamengo and the Hammers.
West Ham’s offer is put at £17m, a little higher than that from the Brazilian club. Flamengo would offer £16m, but also allow Inter to have 20% of a future sale. The Italian side are happy with both offers and would now leave it down to the player.
Should he stay with Flamengo he ‘will fight to be champion in every tournament he plays’, whereas it’s stated he’d find a relegation battle at West Ham.
