It’s certainly not the biggest news of 2020 for Stoke City, but Vazoumana Karamoko is no longer at the club.
The 20-year-old, who has played for the Potters’ U18s and U23s decided it was time to try something new and returned to France to try and get his career going again.
Midi Libre announced the news three days ago, as he is one of three players signed by National 3 side Stade Beaucairois.
Joining Bangaly Soumah and Flavien Chamard, Karamoko will now battle in France’s lower leagues to try and be noticed again.
The man behind the signing is Arnaud Martinez, according to Objectif Gard, the National 3 side’s new director of football, who only took up the role a few weeks ago.
Speaking to the aforementioned outlet, Stade Beaucairois’ president said: “He’s a young player with a lot of potential who has come here in a league where no one knows him and hopes to have a visibility to stand out in the eyes of scouts”.
After all, if his pathway to the first-team at Stoke City was blocked, it makes sense to leave the bet365 Stadium and its surroundings to try and do something with your career.
It’s either that or stay in the reserves forever, really…
