According to a claim in the Greek media, Panathinaikos chances of landing Leeds United defender Vurnon Anita are now slim, with the Dutchman looking to get a move to MLS this summer.

Earlier in this transfer window we covered reports from Greece that Pana are interested in signing Anita and the player’s representative Mino Raiola also confirmed the Greek side wanted to bring in his client.

Sdna claims the player is still in talks with Leeds United with regards to terminating his contract, even though he still has 12 months left on it.

Anita is looking to get at least €700K per season from his next club and this is something the Greek side will struggle to offer the player.

He’s now reportedly looking to find an MLS club which will meet his demands and Sdna.Gr say his agents are working on a deal which will see him head to the USA.

However, the Leeds United player has yet to receive any offers and his future remains unclear.

Last season Anita was loaned out to Dutch side Willem II.
