Rafa Mújica has been on four loan moves since he agreed to join Leeds United in 2019.

The Whites sent the forward on loan to Real Oviedo at the start of this campaign, after he failed to impress in his two temporary spells last season.

His struggles continued at Real Oviedo, which is why Marcelo Bielsa’s side cut short his stay with them and sent him on loan to UD Las Palmas in the winter market.

Their president has already confirmed the Segunda División side have an option to retain the 22-year-old beyond this term.

Mújica has made 10 league appearances for Pepe Mel’s side and even though he’s yet to shine for them, Las Palmas director admitted his side will evaluate the option to keep the Leeds owned player at the club.

AS now state the Spanish club ‘does show interest’ in retaining the attacker, and to do that, Las Palmas ‘should negotiate’ a new deal with the Premier League side.

In other words, the conditions earlier agreed between the two sides would be difficult for Las Palmas to match, and therefore, they must negotiate fresh terms with Leeds for Mújica’s transfer.
