Antonio Rudiger is expected to join Real Madrid as a free agent this summer, after lowering his salary demands.
Earlier this month, it was reported in Spain that the Chelsea defender’s agents had again offered the player to Los Blancos. At that time it was made clear Rudiger had simply been asking for too much money, and Real Madrid would only contemplate a deal on their terms.
Marca say they’ve got that, but they don’t seem to show the full cost of the transfer.
According to the Spanish newspaper, the initial deal for the 29-year-old will be for four seasons. The Chelsea man will be paid around €9m after tax for each season, with a further €2m, also after tax, as a bonus payment for arriving as a free agent.
On top of this there’s around €15m in commission payments, and Marca say this takes the cost of the deal to around €59m, but that’s just taking into account the net amount Rudiger will receive plus the commission.
For him to get €11m a season after tax then the actual wage will have to be a great deal more. The transfer will certainly cost over €60m in total, almost certainly over €70m and potentially more.
