Earlier today, we relayed news from Italy that Christian Eriksen’s agent ‘would like to take’ the Inter Milan player back to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Denmark international left Spurs for the Nerazzurri in the winter 2020 market, but has struggled to adjust to Antonio Conte’s methods at the San Siro.

According to Calciomercato, some intermediaries are working to place the attacking midfielder back in the Premier League.

The report also looks at the 28-year-old’s possibility of returning to the north London club in January.

It’s claimed José Mourinho would ‘like’ to take the former Ajax man on a loan deal, but the player’s €7.5m per year salary can be an issue for his side.

The Italian club found it hard to negotiate with Tottenham chief Daniel Levy when signing Eriksen last January. Therefore, Inter are ‘clear’ with the conditions for the Dane to return to his old club.

Those conditions are an ‘expensive loan’ deal and Spurs taking care of Eriksen’s full wages.

These terms, however, are not applicable to other clubs as they can take the player on a free loan deal, but must take care of his high salary. Spurs have ‘memorised the message’ sent by Inter, claims Calciomercato.

Sending an ultimatum to Levy and telling him Tottenham would have to pay more than other clubs doesn’t sound like the smartest of moves, especially when it’s considered there’s not a lot of interest in Eriksen right now.
