Since Pep Guardiola called Sporting midfielder Matheus Nunes one of the ‘best players in the world’, that gave the player a new status in Portugal.

It all started with the transfer rumours, as last week, several local outlets started listing the Premier League clubs who’d like to sign the 23-year-old.

It was even claimed that Manchester City could bring him in at the end of the season, as they’d be one of the clubs who could afford taking him out of the Lions.

Now, in a new story from newspaper A Bola, it’s claimed that Sporting have even set a price for Nunes in case clubs indeed come up for him in the summer.

The midfielder is protected by a release clause worth €60m, and it’s said that the Lions now plan to ask at least €40m for his sale.

A Bola even learned that in the Champions League clash between Manchester City and Sporting last week, Bernardo Silva went to Nunes at the end of the game and asked for his shirt.

The Brazilian claimed he had already promised the jersey to someone else, and said that in the next international break, as he actually plays for Portugal, they’ll make the swap.
