Newcastle United continue being pointed out as a potential destination for Benfica full-back Nuno Tavares.
The latest report about the chase comes from Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, who feature a story on some of the signings the Eagles are planning to make this summer.
When speaking of the players who could be on the way out of Lisbon, there’s a mention for Tavares, who is said to be valued by Benfica at €30m.
Besides Newcastle, O Jogo says the 21-year-old is also wanted by the likes of Burnley and Napoli.
Despite setting an early valuation for the defender, the newspaper explain the price will depend on the offers they get, meaning they could perhaps hand out a discount should no one meets their asking price of €30m.
A month ago, the very same O Jogo had already reported the Magpies’ interest in Tavares.
At that time, they claimed the Premier League club made a ‘solid’ approach for the left-back and ‘promised’ to soon come up with a bid for him.
Now with Benfica looking to soon let him go, that clearly makes things easier for Steve Bruce’s side to go get him.
