AS Roma are yet to reach agreement with Manchester United’s Eric Bailly over his wages, despite striking a deal on the transfer.
That’s according to Roma Giallorossa, who provide an update on the defender’s potential reunion with Jose Mourinho.
They follow reports yesterday that Roma had struck an €8m agreement with Manchester United for the defender, with their information stating the same.
According to them, United have an ‘agreement in principle’ with Roma on an €8m deal plus bonuses for the defender.
That is one major hurdle out of the way and Roma are ‘seriously trying’ to get a deal over the line, particularly as he is a ‘favourite’ of Jose Mourinho and Tiago Pinto.
However, there is ‘still some distance’ between the player and the Italian club in terms of the salary he would earn.
He currently picks up €4m a year at Manchester United and it seems Roma cannot or will not match that. They do, though, ‘remain confident’ on finding an agreement.
The move is very much one that can be done and there is a positivity it will, but further negotiations are required.
