Girona are considering making a permanent move for Tottenham’s Bryan Gil, and can get him for €15m if they wish to do so.
That’s according to AS, who say the Spanish club are ‘considering making effective’ the purchase option they negotiated with Tottenham in the summer.
The newspaper explains that Gil is managing to move upwards once again, with manager Míchel Sánchez giving him the time and confidence that he wasn’t afforded at Tottenham.
He’s rewarded that with performances on the pitch and Girona’s management are ‘already seriously considering’ the idea of activating the €15m purchase clause included in his loan deal from Tottenham.
The youngster is more than comfortable at Girona and Míchel Sánchez has proven to be one of his greatest supporters. That’s translated to three goals and three assists in 22 games in all competitions this season.
Gil is eager to settle at a club and get back on track after a difficult few years at Tottenham and a career that’s already seen him play for Spurs, Sevilla, Eibar, Valencia and Leganés.
Girona don’t need to rush into anything as the clause runs until the summer, but they have the financial muscle to pay it if they wish.
