This week, we’ve seen Palmeiras getting interested in the signing of Aston Villa loanee Wesley Moraes, who’s having a spell at Belgian side Club Brugge until the end of the season.
It was claimed that the Verdão wanted the player on a loan deal, with his agents already working to get the move done, as he isn’t getting the expected playing time at his current club.
Now it turns out that there should be some competition in Brazil for his signing, because according to the latest news from Globo Esporte, São Paulo joined the race for the 25-year-old.
It’s now reported that the Tricolor sent an offer for a one-year loan, where Wesley would arrive for free, with Aston Villa still affording most of his wages.
It’s claimed that Wesley’s agents are currently ‘trying to release’ him from Brugge, and once they get his loan in Belgium rescinded, then they’ll work on the offers on the table.
The player has struggled to find his level since his knee injury in 2020, and with Aston Villa rooting for his recovery, they ‘do not oppose’ to a move to Brazil.
With a potential battle between two big clubs for the signing, that certainly makes it easier for the Premier League side to push for a better deal.
