Juventus scouts have travelled to Wales today to watch Swansea vs Morecombe in the FA Cup third round and keep an eye on Arsenal’s Charlie Patino.
That’s according to Tutto Juve, who say Juventus scouts will be present at the Liberty Stadium to follow the young midfielder.
Reports over the last month have surprisingly linked Juventus with a move for Patino, with the Italian side on the hunt for a new midfielder after losing Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli to long-term bans.
Patino is currently on loan at Championship side Swansea, his second move away from the Emirates after spending last season on loan with Blackpool.
He’s been in and out of the side this season, featuring in 47% of the available minutes in the Championship to date but still managing three goals and four assists in 20 games anyway.
That’s seemingly seen him end up on Juventus’ radar, with it first claimed they could offer Moise Kean in a swap deal to get him out of Arsenal.
That was followed by a claim that Arsenal wanted €30m for the youngster but could be persuaded into a potential swap deal that would bring the price down.
A deal hasn’t really progressed from beyond that point, but Tutto Juve now report that Juventus scouts will be in attendance for Swansea’s clash with Morecambe in the FA Cup later today to watch Patino in action.
Whether that’s an indication they are ready to make their move, or at least propose something, remains to be seen but it seems the idea is a firm one, at least enough for the Italian side to send scouts all the way to Wales.
