Earlier this week it was reported Napoli have made an offer for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, but was rejected.

The last few days has seen the Italian giants constantly being linked with the Colombian, who was sent off against Newcastle United yesterday.

Il Mattino today report Napoli scouted Duran during the game and it’s been described as a ‘wasted trip’ after the 21-year-old was given a red card in the 32nd minute.

However, this hasn’t deterred Napoli in their pursuit of the Aston Villa striker and the outlet claim Antonio Conte’s side want to ‘request the operation’, with the player valued at €45m.

Duran is said to be a dream target for Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis and sporting director Giovanni Manna, but will wait until the summer transfer window .

This decision was made after yesterday’s scouting mission at St James’ as they are not prepared to go ‘crazy’ for the Aston Villa star next month.
