Rafael Camacho has been on the verge of a return to Sporting for a while.

The Liverpool youngster wanted to go to the Lisbon side on loan in the January transfer window. As far as the Portuguese media have reported on multiple occasions, he was promised by Jurgen Klopp that he’d get a reasonable amount of minutes if he stayed.

That time on the pitch didn’t materialise, and so Camacho snubbed the idea of a renewal at Anfield, instead wanting to try his luck elsewhere.

In Portugal it’s been thought for a while that Sporting was a likely destination, and even when the German media said Camacho was moving to the Bundesliga and signing for Schalke, they kept up their confidence.

Earlier on Thursday we covered claims from media close to the club which stated an announcement could come soon.

Since then the club’s president Frederico Varandas has been on Sporting TV, as covered by Record, to say three signings will be announced in the coming hours.

Record names them as Camacho, Rosier and Eduardo.
