Having spent the months approaching the summer being linked with Manchester United, Nikola Milenkovic is now thought to be of more interest to West Ham.
Towards the end of June it was reported the Hammers could sign the defender for just €10m, although that seemed far too low to please Fiorentina.
Despite the player now having less than a year on his contract and not wanting to renew, La Viola aren’t keen to offer a huge discount. Saturday’s edition of La Nazione, the newspaper local to the Tuscany club, reports Fiorentina would start negotiations at something around €25-27m.
Juventus are credited with an interest, but the Turin side haven’t done anything serious about that. La Nazione say the only offer which has arrived at Fiorentina came from an English club and was worth €16m.
The club isn’t named, although West Ham seems the likeliest given previous reports in both Italy and England.
When faced with the €16m, Fiorentina rejected it without even entering further talks, so if David Moyes really wants the signing then the Hammers have to go higher.
