HSV Hamburg are rubbing their hands together at the prospect of former midfielder Amadou Onana joining West Ham United this summer.
That’s according to NDR, who say they are set to pocket a sum of €6.2m if the rumoured deal goes through.
They explain that the Belgian is ‘on the verge’ of a move from current club Lille to West Ham in a deal that could cost the Hammers €38m, although that is up for discussion right now as the Ligue 1 club aren’t making talks easy.
That would suit Hamburg as they secure a future resale percentage on Onana when they sold him to the French side for €7m in August last year.
What that percentage is, isn’t made clear, but it’s stated that were Onana to join West Ham for €38m as has been rumoured, Hamburg would pocket €6.2m. That works out at 16% for those interested.
Either way, it seems the German side are set to pocket a tidy million-euro ‘boost’ from the potential deal should it go through at any point this summer.
