Spanish side Celta Vigo are ‘rubbing their hands’ at Okay Yokuşlu’s form during his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion.
The Turkish midfielder joined the Baggies on loan in the January transfer window, with Sam Allardyce keen to add a defensive midfielder to a squad which had conceded freely in the first half of the season.
He has not been able to stop that from happening but has been a success nonetheless, earning rave reviews for his performances and establishing himself as a key player since his arrival.
That has Vigo rubbing their hands at the prospect of a future deal, according to El Desmarque, who cover the player today.
They say the Spanish club let the midfielder leave in January after a poor campaign last year that had seen him fall out of the team, lose his confidence and face criticism from the fans.
Vigo, therefore, accepted West Brom’s offer to take him away, hoping he could revalue himself ahead of a possible move in the summer.
That’s certainly happened, with West Brom and their fans impressed by what they’ve seen so far, which has led them to ‘dream of the possibility’ of the player joining on a permanent basis.
That’s unlikely if they’re relegated, with Yokuşlu having admitted he has dreamt of playing in the Premier League since he was a kid.
It’s claimed the game in England ‘benefits’ the midfielder, and Celta are aware of this, believing he could be ‘an interesting piece’ for different teams in the division.
That leaves his future ‘in the air’ at this moment in time, with the Spanish club dreaming of a transfer in the summer that would allow them to reinforce the squad in the summer, although for that to happen, he will have to continue impressing at West Brom first.
