Nottingham Forest appear to be closing in on a deal for St. Pauli youngster Eric da Silva Moreira, although the German side are remaining tight lipped on the matter.
That’s according to MOPO, who say that Moreira’s future is being dealt with by Jorge Mendes and that is pushing him towards England.
The Portuguese agent, via Gestifute, has been taking care of the 18-year-old for several months, and the next step of that could be the move to Nottingham Forest.
They explain that the youngster, who is a world and European champion with Germany’s U17s, has been training with the St. Pauli first team for the second half of the season and made his debut in the 2. Bundesliga this year, appears to be on his way out.
Reports elsewhere first suggested that Nottingham Forest were interested and that move has not come completely out of the blue.
There is currently no detailed information on the matter and St. Pauli are not providing it either, remaining tight lipped when asked about the matter and a reported €1.5m transfer fee.
Nevertheless ‘there is a chance’ that the deal will go through, something St. Pauli aren’t particularly keen on as it means they now need to find a replacement in their squad, which appears to be getting picked apart this summer.
