Inter Milan would sell striker Lautaro Martinez to Tottenham this summer if they were to receive a fee of around €80m.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Passione Inter, who say the Argentine striker is one of several candidates the club are looking at potentially selling in the summer transfer window.
The Italian club has to ‘finance itself’ if they are to be able to strengthen their squad, and there is a belief that at least ‘one excellent transfer’ will happen.
Martinez is among the candidates, and he is more than transferable and replaceable as far as those in charge at the club are concerned.
He is ‘liked’ by Tottenham and Atlético Madrid, and if either of those sides were to offer around €80m, Inter would sell him ‘albeit reluctantly’.
It’s a different matter for the likes of Nicolo Barella, Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni, who Tottenham also ‘have their eyes on’, but Inter are far less open to selling.
If it came to it, Inter would prefer to sell Martinez, who could bring in enough money that they could avoid selling more players, as they did last summer when Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku were sold.
The plan is that only one will leave, and at the moment, the only one ‘credited’ with a chance of doing so is Martinez, provided the likes of Tottenham offer a figure of around €80m.
