At the weekend, reports from England talked about the future of Liverpool left-back Owen Beck, who could leave the club on loan this summer.
It was claimed that the youngster, who is related to Ian Rush, is wanted by Portuguese side Famalicão, who could win the competition and land him on a temporary deal.
The local media is, obviously, covering the story today. And it turns out that as newspaper Record went chasing more information on this story, they couldn’t find any new claims to sustain it.
The outlet points out that this is an ‘open hypothesis’ which ‘could not find any echo’ at Famalicão, with the newspaper reaching a dead end. They write the Portuguese club also refused to talk about the subject, and won’t even confirm interest.
After joining Liverpool’s youth ranks, Beck is now closer to the first team, and in need of playing time. He’s already made a couple of appearances in the EFL Cup, and as he dreams of making his Premier League debut, it seems he may have to wait a little while, since he’s been linked with a loan to League One sides this summer as well.
