Sabah have reported on Besiktas president Fikret Orman and manager Senol Gunes discussing the latest developments at their preseason training camp.
Sabah say Orman has expressed his thoughts to Gunes about selling Everton target Vida after the Besiktas manager previously said he’d be keen to see him in his squad ahead of next season but will be powerless to prevent any transfer.
He’s paraphrased as saying: “I rushed the sale of Cenk Tosun. Now I see I’ve made a mistake. I think we could’ve sold him for €3m more. But I am not going to repeat the same mistake on Vida.”
Orman also added: ”We’re relaxed about the situation. We are in no rush to sell Vida. If someone wants to sign our player, then they need to pay the price.”
Tosun joined Everton in the last transfer window which was a transfer record for a player being sold from the Turkish Super Lig.
In recent weeks Everton have been linked with another Besiktas player with claims the Toffees have tabled bids for Croatia international Domagoj Vida.
This week there have been reports in Turkey that Everton have offered €15m for the central defender, but also €10m plus Davy Klaassen for a season long loan.
Leicester City and Liverpool are also reported to be interest in Vida.
