Fenerbahçe are ready to try and sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton in the January transfer window, if Jose Mourinho approves of the move.
That’s according to Fotomaç, who report that that the Turkish side plan to add a striker to their squad in January and Calvert-Lewin is being targeted.
It’s explained that Fenerbahce haven’t been able to get the efficiency that they were hoping for from the likes of Youssef En-Nesyri and Cenk Tosun, while they think Edin Dzeko is too old to carry the team throughout the season.
They want to win all three competitions they’re in this season, so want to strengthen Mourinho’s hand.
The primary goal is a centre-forward and Calvert-Lewin currently sits at the top of the list because his contract with Everton is coming to an end.
The 27-year-old is reportedly ready to move on as he’s not received the renewal offer he was expecting from Everton and is ready for a new adventure.
That opens up the door to a move in January and Fenerbahce are ready to move if Jose Mourinho approves of the transfer.
Interestingly if it were to happen Calvert-Lewin would likely replace former Everton striker Cenk Tosun at the club. He’s only played 58 minutes under Mourinho so far and would be open to a move to a club where more playing time is on offer.
