Back in May, Idrissa Gueye’s contract at Everton was extended until the end of this season and his future beyond that still needs to be clarified.
The Senegal international’s contract situation at Everton has caught the attention of clubs beyond Europe, more specifically Qatari side Al-Duhail SC.
That’s at least what Africa Foot are reporting, and they bring the latest on Al-Duhail’s plan to sign the Everton player.
Christophe Galtier is in charge at the Middle Eastern club and previously managed the 35-year-old at Lille and Paris Saint-Germain. The Qatari side are ‘ready to offer a lucrative contract’ to the midfielder to join them for free next summer.
Gueye still has a market in Europe, and he’ll have to make a decision on whether to explore those opportunities or move to Qatar.
Al-Duhai’s offer is financially attractive to the Senegalese, and the outlet states he should take this into consideration as it’ll be the highest ever salary he has received so far.
Gueye, who returned to Everton in 2022, has made 11 Premier League appearances this season. It seems like his future beyond this season should be away from the Toffees.
