IFK Norrköping could be set to sell defender Linus Wahlqvist, according to claims in the Swedish media. The 20-year-old has impressed for the Swedish club in the past 12 months, and the youngster has recently been linked with a move to Leeds United.

Fotboll Direkt have reported IFK could again look to offload one of their prized assets ahead of the summer window. The club has in recent seasons sold off some of their key players to foreign sides, and it’s expected Wahlqvist will be the next to go.

IFK need to sell players in this financial year to balance their books, and the Sweden international would command a transfer fee which could solve these issues.

Leeds United have already tried to sign the young defender, making an approach for Wahlqvist last summer. Throughout this season Leeds United have continued to be linked with the youngster in the Swedish media, and it’s expected they’ll again show interest in the next window.

This week Wahlqvist told the Swedish press he’s ready to make the next step in his career, but Leeds United could face competition from Fiorentina and Valencia.
