Besiktas’ head of football, Erdal Torunogullari, is set to open talks with Everton to loan Cenk Tosun, according to Turkish newspaper Sabah.
The 28 year old has only played 35 minutes of Premier League football so far this season and it seems clear he’s not a part of Marco Silva’s plans.
With Turkey looking well placed to qualify for Euro 2020, Sabah reports Tosun wants to play regular first-team football and he’s keen to return to Besiktas if they can agree on a deal with Everton.
Sabah claim Torunogullari will fly to England in the near future to talk with Tosun, who’s said to be unhappy about his situation with the Merseyside club.
Torunogullari, who once worked with former Besiktas president Fikret Orman, was key to signing Tosun for Besiktas when he was at Gaziantepspor.
He also played an important part in his sale to Everton, from which the Super Lig side reportedly earned €27m.
The Turkish international is under contract at Goodison Park until June 2022.
