According to Aksam, Besiktas manager Abdullah Avci has given the green light to the Turkish club’s board to sign Crystal Palace defender Jairo Riedewald.

It’s reported Avci wants to sign a left-footed central defender who’s good on the ball, and Riedewald currently fits this profile for his Besiktas side.

Avci has also told the Besiktas board the Dutchman is a versatile player as he can operate as a left back and defensive midfielder.

Following Avci’s assessment of the player, Besiktas will now open talks with Crystal Palace to loan the 22 year old and they are hoping they can convince the Premier League side over a deal.

The former Ajax academy graduate has struggled to get games in the Premier League since his arrival from the Dutch side in 2017.

There’s been talk of interest from elsewhere, but nothing else especially serious has turned up yet.

Riedewald is under contract at Selhurst Park until June 2022.
