According to Turkish newspaper Star, Trabzonspor are interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Daniel Amartey as they look to replace Ogenyi Onazi in the January transfer window.

The Turkish club are in need of a central midfielder with Onazi yet to play a game for the for nearly a year because of an Achilles injury he picked up at the beginning of last season.

Star claims Karadeniz Firtinasi are looking at possible alternatives to Onazi and Leicester City’s Danish midfielder Amartey is said to be an option.

Amartey has yet to feature for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season as the former Liverpool manager has understandably been preferring Wilfried Ndidi as his defensive midfielder.

Star report Trabzonspor will make a loan offer to Leicester City for the player as they are particularly impressed with his ability to operate in a number of positions.

The Ghana international is under contract at the King Power Stadium until June 2022.
