Besiktas are in the market for a forward ahead of the January transfer window and one of the targets for the Turkish club is Aston Villa’s Jonathan Kodjia, reports Anadolu Agency, as covered by Sporx.
It’s claimed the Black Eagles will offer €3m to Aston Villa to sign the 30 year old, however one concern for them is Kodjia’s recent injury problems.
The final decision is now likely to be made by Besiktas manager Abdullah Avci, and if he gives the green light they will reportedly move for the player. Kodjia was linked with a move to the Super Lig side last summer.
Everton’s Cenk Tousn has also been linked with a move to the Istanbul side, and it’s clear they’re looking for a striker addition.
This season the Aston Villa player has only managed 60 minutes of competitive football for Dean Smith’s side, and has found himself down the pecking order following arrivals in the last window.
Kodjia will become a free agent at the end of the season and subsequently Villa could look to cash in on him during the January transfer window.
