Turkish TV channel A Spor report Galatasaray’s initial loan bid for Manchester United midfielder Fred has been rejected by the English club.
Last week we covered claims from Turkey which said Gala are keen to sign Fred on a temporary basis, but A Spor claim their first offer has been turned down by Manchester United.
However, it’s reported the Super Lig side are planning to return with an improved bid and that they could offer a €2m loan fee for the Brazilian. That still doesn’t sound too attractive for the Premier League club, even if they have any intention of letting the player go.
Fred is reportedly the first name on Fatih Terim’s shortlist, and the veteran manager is looking to strengthen his midfield after losing both Jean Michael Seri and Mario Lemina in recent weeks.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are also closing in on Ajax’s Donny van de Beek and whilst he’s a different type of player to Fred, it’s another number in the middle of the pitch.
Fred made 48 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United last season. His contract at Old Trafford will expire at the end of June 2023.
