Today is one more day when we see Aston Villa being linked to River Plate star Julian Alvarez.

This time it’s Marca who features a story on the striker’s recent success, claiming he’s been drawing Europe’s attention with the great form he’s been showing.

The outlet features a list of clubs who’ve been interested in his signing, and that includes the likes of Aston Villa, Bayer Leverkusen, Fiorentina and AC Milan.

The story claims it’s not only the 19 goals this season that has been attracting so many sides, but also the several qualities he’s been showing in River Plate’s attack.

Marca just doesn’t seem to have information on when those clubs will actually move for the signing, and when checking the Italian media, we end up seeing Calciomercato saying a transfer could happen in January already.

Their story claims that ‘several intermediaries’ have been moving to be a point of contact between clubs and agents.

Meanwhile, even though River Plate are still to set a price for Alvarez, it’s said they’re ‘ready to listen to proposals’ and ‘rubbing their hands’ for their first bids.

That’s when they’ll really know how much he can be sold for, with Aston Villa potentially in the middle of it all, although it could all depend on whether Dean Smith’s replacement wants the Argentine or not.
