Back in the summer, a number of stories came out that Tottenham, just before they appointed Fabio Paratici as their director of football, wanted Marcus Thuram.

The France international is currently at Borussia Mönchengladbach but came extremely close to leaving in the summer before a knee injury stopped everything.

Inter were the unlucky ones, seeing a deal slip away from them at the very last minute, and now Thuram is struggling in Germany.

This could help Tottenham, though, as it was very clear the interest was there, with stories stating he was a ‘priority’ for Spurs and that they were ‘in talks’ to sign him at one point.

Back then, the fee being discussed was at least €30m, with some even going as far as €40-45m, but that’s all changed now.

With him far from his best and a recent tussle with Breel Embolo taking place, L’Equipe now point out that an exit in January is possible.

They say Gladbach are ‘ready to let him go’, with whispers that his value is now €15m.

In fact, Thuram himself will be wanting to sort things out because he has a dream, and that’s to represent his country at the 2022 World Cup, and a move elsewhere, perhaps Tottenham, could be just what he needs to achieve that.
