Brighton & Hove Albion striker Aaron Connolly is leaving the club once again this summer, according to reports from Italy.
Following the loan spell the player has just had at Middlesbrough, it’s now said the 22-year-old is on his way to Serie B side Venezia.
Website Calciomercato today writes the Italian club ‘in fact reached an agreement with Brighton’ for the transfer, but it isn’t made clear if he’s moving on a temporary or permanent move.
Venezia had been looking for a centre-forward to replace Thomas Henry, who’s on his way to Hellas Verona, and seem to have worked fast to sign Connolly from the Seagulls.
The Irish striker, who came through Brighton’s academy, has seldom been used by the club in the past few years.
In his spell at Middlesborough, which only lasted a few months, he had two goals in 21 appearances.
His contract with the Seagulls runs until 2024, and now we shall wait and see if Venezia are buying him or signing him on a temporary spell.
