According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray have stepped up in their pursuit for Aston Villa defender Lucas Digne.
Earlier today we covered reports from Turkey that Galatasaray were looking to bring in the Frenchman on a loan deal as their search for a left back continues.
Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has reported on the latest developments regarding Gala’s interest in Digne and he says the Super Lig champions have reached an agreement with the player over personal terms.
The Turkish journalist reports an official offer has been tabled with Aston Villa and that transfer talks are ongoing. Aston Villa sporting director Monchi and Fenerbahce’s Cenk Ergün are said to be heading the negotiations.
Gala’s offer is for a no-cost loan for next season, but they’ll cover the entirity of Digne’s wages.
It’s been widely reported in the past week that Galatasaray are looking to sign a left back in this transfer window. In recent days they’ve been linked Rangers defender Rıdvan Yılmaz and today there’s been reports of interest in Ipswich Town’s Leif Davis.
Digne made 46 appearances for Aston Villa last season, scoring two goals. He’s contracted to the Premier League side until June 2026.
