Sevilla are pushing to secure a loan deal for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Julio Enciso as they look to bolster their squad in January.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who say the Spanish side are studying options to reinforce their attack in the winter window and are looking at the Brighton man as a result.
According to the newspaper, Enciso’s name is the one that ‘gains the most strength’ at this moment in time as the club assess their options.
Enciso has struggled for prominence at Brighton this season and the Seagulls are open to letting him leave on loan, to allow him to grow and gain confidence elsewhere.
Sevilla would value a loan deal as it would allow them to bolster their squad but also, potentially, line up a future transfer as the 20-year-old enters the final year of his deal this summer.
Negotiations are already underway and a report at the end of last month did state that Sevilla had already asked Brighton about Enciso when discussing Valentin Barco’s situation at the club.
It’s since been made clear that Enciso wants to leave, at least on loan, but wanted to stay in the Premier League, so Sevilla may have work to do before they can get this deal over the line.
