According to a claim in the Italian media, Sampdoria are showing an interest in Southampton forward Manolo Gabbiadini.
The 26 year old was linked with a return to Serie A in the last transfer window, and the one before that, but a move never materialised.
TMW claim Sampdoria are ‘pressing’ for the player.
It’s reported the Serie A side are looking for a loan deal with a right of redemption for the Italy international, but the stumbling block could be the player’s wages.
Gabbiadini currently earns €2m with the Saints which TMW say could be an issue for Sampdoria.
This is the same old story repeatedly weekly in the Italian media, with different clubs brought in and out of the situation.
Again this season Gabbiadini has struggled to get games under Mark Hughes but he gave the Southampton boss a remainder of his ability last week with the opening goal against Watford.
During the last window there claims Bologna and Lazio wanted to sign him, but the striker preferred to remain in the Premier League.
