Liverpool’s attempt to sign Braga defender David Carmo is being reported by multiple sources on Monday.

Most claims come from the Portuguese media, where they say the Liga NOS club turned down the offer they received from the Reds.

Outlet O Jogo makes it clear the bid was submitted today. It’s claimed Braga president Antonio Salvador consulted manager Carlos Carvalhal and decided to decline it.

The report doesn’t say the exact figure for the deal, but describes it as a ‘considerable amount’. They add that Liverpool now turn their attention to Schalke 04 defender Ozan Kabak.

Even though A Bola brings a report as well, they don’t have a lot to say. They claim Liverpool and Braga had been in talks for Carmo, but the offer was turned down.

The Reds’ bid has even been reported in France, where Telefoot journalist Simone Rovera claims the defender would only move in case someone triggered his €30m release clause.

Liverpool had already been linked to Carmo at the start of the month. At the time, A Bola said the club were ‘attentive’ to his performances and claimed his release clause was actually €40m.
