Sporting and Wolverhampton Wanderers have finally found a deal for the transfer of Rui Patrício, according to most of the Portuguese press today.

Outlets like A Bola, O Jogo, Record, Jornal de Notícias and Correio da Manhã all claim that the Lions will end up getting €18m for the goalkeeper’s move to the Premier League side.

Rui Patrício had rescinded his contract with Sporting at the end of the last season due to the attacks at the Alcochete training centre, and signed for Wolves as a free agent.

The local media claims  the big reason why the English side are now accepting to pay a fee is because both Patrício and his agent Jorge Mendes have given up on accepting a prize for the signing.

Sporting president Frederico Varandas, who took care of the deal, has spoken to Record when returning to Portugal this Tuesday, and has claimed that a confirmation should be made soon.

“You’ll know everything soon enough. The agreement is almost complete, but now I can only speak when everything is finished. I do not want to compromise things”, Varandas told Record.

“I assured Sportinguists that this case was going to be well resolved and I believe it more and more.”
