RMC, like many other media outlets around Europe, have been astonished by Premier League transfer fees this summer. It’s not the big deals, like Paul Pogba to Manchester United or Granit Xhaka to Arsenal, that are raising eyebrows, but rather the medium sized ones.

There’s astonishment in France about what Sunderland have offered for Didier Ndong, €20m, but RMC point out the club, in their opinion, are also set to receive an inflated transfer fee.

It’s explained that if the Ndong fee isn’t enough to convince people that the English market has gone crazy, then Sunderland ‘preparing to sell’ Lamine Kone to Everton for €23m should do the trick.

Kone joined Sunderland in January and has obviously done enough to impress Everton if they want to pay €23m for him. That’s not a high fee for a transfer between Premier League clubs, but in France it’s seen as huge.
