The long saga surrounding Raphinha’s future came to an end today when Leeds United and Barcelona reached an ‘agreement in principle’ for his transfer.

His move to the Camp Nou will be completed once the winger completes his medical tests and signs a contract with the La Liga side.

These procedures are likely to take place in the coming days, if Spanish journalist Gerard Romero is to be believed.

Romero took to Twitter to claim the La Liga side are ‘preparing to present’ the Leeds United player ‘on Friday’.

Chelsea [and Arsenal] made firm efforts to take the 25-year-old away from the Whites, with the west London club even reaching an agreement with Jesse Marsch’s side.

The ex-Rennes man was keen to join the Catalan club and his firm desire forced Leeds to find an agreement with Barca for his transfer.

Leeds have found a replacement for the Brazil international, while Chelsea are set to close the signing Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
