Turkish TV channel A Spor claim Fenerbahce are keen to strengthen their squad by signing Aston Villa striker Mbwana Samatta.
Fener are in the market for a forward after recently selling Vedat Muriqi to Lazio, and A Spor’s Ahmet Selim Kul reports Samatta is topping the Super Lig side’s shortlist.
It’s reported the Yellow Caneries are preparing to make a loan offer for the Aston Villa player, and that he could join them before the end of the month.
Samatta joined Villa from Genk for €10m in the winter transfer window, however, he’s failed to make a real impact since his arrival in England.
He scored just one Premier League goal for the club in 14 appearances last season, and his contract at Villa Park will expire at the end of June 2024.
