Following Wednesday’s big story about Chelsea’s interest in signing Matheus Nunes from Sporting, Portuguese newspaper A Bola today shows up with another page talking about the situation.
This time, however, the outlet is more focused on the Lions’ side of the story, claiming the Lisbon side are already looking for replacements in case the midfielder has his departure confirmed.
A Bola recalls what they wrote yesterday, saying Chelsea intend to match Wolverhampton Wanderers’ attempt worth €45m up front plus €5m in bonuses, claiming the Blues’ intention is to make a ‘formal offer’ in the coming days.
However, until the Stamford Bridge side do that, there are no big developments in the case, although there’s clearly a positive feeling that a deal could be reached between the English and Portuguese clubs, which is why Sporting are preparing themselves to lose the midfielder.
Meanwhile, newspaper Correio da Manhã brings a very short story about this situation, and they only make one thing clear.
They claim that ‘despite the news’ published this week, Chelsea have not made any bids for the signing yet.
The good news for the Blues is that, according to the outlet, Sporting are asking for €45m plus €5m, which is exactly the price A Bola says the Premier League side are offering.
